Residential Grid-Tied + Battery Backup Solar System

Clients home in Bryanston, Johannesburg with a small home office with a few essential loads incl. fridges for medical samples.
AM Solar installed a 4.8kWp grid-tie solar power system to reduce the home/offices overall electricity consumption, then we installed a small battery backup system to power some of the offices essential loads for a period of 10 hours.
Battery backup inverter was Victron and the panels are 300W poly-crystalline solar panels with a Schneider Electric single phase grid-tie inverter (RL5000).

The roof was a bit of a challenge as it was a Slate Roof.
Requiring we drill through to get a proper solar frame mounting into the roof rafters. The Schletter mounting kit used allows for this roof-type and ensures proper water proofing thereafter.

Schneider Electric XW Series Installation - Midrand, Johannesburg

AM Solar, now an approved Schneider Electric PV System Integrator (PVSI) has designed and installed their first Grid-Interactive Solar PV System in an up-market housing estate in Midrand Johannesburg, using the Schneider Electric XW range of products.

The Schneider XW Series of solar inverters, controllers and monitoring equipment are very elegant and relatively easy to install.
The system programming was straight forward and allowed for lots of custom functionality and system optimisation.

AM Solar are proud to be associated with the Schneider Electric (Xantrex) brand.

The system has a 6kW Schneider Inverter, 60A Schneider Charge Controller, 3kW Yingli PV Array and a 600AH 48V AGM Battery Bank.

New Bustruck Factory (Midrand) - Roof-Top, Grid-Tied PV System

A 53 kW Grid-Tied Photovoltaic (PV) system installed on the roof of the new factory building.

Using the Solar Frontier (SF150) panels, which are Thin-Film (CIS) and the Kaco TL3 60.0 Inverter.

System design, supply and installation by AM Solar.

A Grid-Tied system supplements the grid supply where the primary electricity feed to the building will come from the solar system and the balance (if required) will come from the grid.  
Any excess energy form the solar system is sold to the local Grid owner, in this case the municipality of Ekhuraleni, Johannesburg.
