New Bustruck Factory (Midrand) - Roof-Top, Grid-Tied PV System

A 53 kW Grid-Tied Photovoltaic (PV) system installed on the roof of the new factory building.

Using the Solar Frontier (SF150) panels, which are Thin-Film (CIS) and the Kaco TL3 60.0 Inverter.

System design, supply and installation by AM Solar.

A Grid-Tied system supplements the grid supply where the primary electricity feed to the building will come from the solar system and the balance (if required) will come from the grid.
Any excess energy form the solar system is sold to the local Grid owner, in this case the municipality of Ekhuraleni, Johannesburg.

Off-Grid School - Large Solar PV System - Benoni, JHB

This project was designed and installed by AM Solar. The system is now fully commissioned and functioning.
The school is Woodlands International School in Impala Park, Benoni.
System configuration is Grid-Tied between PV Panels and School load but is completely Off-Grid, thus there is no Eskom Connection.  The school is completely independent of the National Grid and 100% self-dependent for all their own power.
Coupled with intelligent Building Design (using passive principles), Low-Energy Lighting and a Building Automation System (managing priority loads and occupation based load requirements).

The school is very sustainable in it;s overall energy demands and is NET-ZERO Energy!!

PV Array - 46 x 240W Trinasolar Photovoltaic Panels

3 x 8kva Victron Quattro Inverters (3-Phase) with 3 x Sunnyboy PV Grid Inverters.

Happy Client with his new batteries (above) with Alastair (from AM Solar) programming the system. Happy kids at the school that is 100% Solar Powered.
